Principal Operations Research Analyst, Palmdale (Clearance Required)

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Principal Operations Research Analyst 3, Planning and Scheduling,to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and the qualified candidatewill become part of the Strike Division Special Programs Master Planning and Scheduling Department. The individualmust be able to work independently on multiple concurrent programs. Must have an active DoD Secret clearance to beconsidered for this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis fordecision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques

- Work with Control Account Managers to track plans and schedules, perform risk analysis, identify and resolve criticalpath and network logic conflicts

- Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operationalmathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and otherprinciples and laws of scientific and economic disciplines

- Prepare, develop and coordinate the supplementary integrated master schedules to meet all program objectives

- Ensure all supplemental schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groupsincluding finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality

- Work with Control Account Managers to track plans and schedules, perform risk analysis, identify and resolve criticalpath and network logic conflict

- Utilize Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project established management techniquesto gauge progress and intervention on critical areas

- Produce documentation for and conduct executive management reviews

- Provide regular oral and written communication on status and issues to the Program Manager

- Assist Program Manager in the organization and planning of resources to support specific work scope and manageexecution by maintaining contact with key stakeholders and awareness of resources skills and experience

- Maintain, delegate and prioritize action items


The successful candidate will possess the following:

- Ability to work in a high paced environment, meet deadlines and produce analyses in a timely manner

- Ability to perform detailed schedule, resource, work, and cost analysis and make recommendations to solve problems

- Ability to create presentation content and present to various levels of leadership

- Ability to effectively work with multiple functional teams, supplier teams, and the Program/Project Manager

- Ability to effectively lead and implement process improvements by receiving concurrence from all stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
  • Aminimum of 5 years of experience in data research,data analysis, production planningorprogram scheduling or aMaster's degree and 3 years of stated experience

PreferredQualifications:

  • Experience using EVMS (Earned Value Management System) to support implementation on programs
  • PMP Certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Project, scheduling and schedule baseline
  • Microsoft Project Server Experience
  • Advanced MS Office Site sills (Word, Project, PowerPoint and Excel)
