Principal Material Program Manager - Tucson

Raytheon is seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in Supply Chain, Program Management and Finance in the defense industry to fill a critical Material Program Manager (MPM) role within the Air Warfare Systems (AWS) product line. The program has two MPM positions to fill. The MPM manage the complete strategic and tactical supply chain needs for development efforts within the AMRAAM program. This role requires the candidate to be forward thinking and very comfortable operating in extremely dynamic environments. This role will have daily involvement with Customers, Supplier Leaders, Program Directors, Program Managers, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Contracts, Finance, and multiple Supply Chain organizations. This position reports to the AMRAAM Senior Material Program Manager.

The MPM serves as the supply chain leader on the development efforts “Team of 5” management team (which includes Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, & Program Management). The MPM creates, manages and executes the material program strategy (MPS) and the material program plan (MPP) to ensure program competitiveness and performance from the front end of the business through contract closure. Key activities include: financial management (i.e., EVMS, budgets, targets, working capital, material sales, etc.); supplier management (i.e., Line of Balance/PO Place plans, Supplier Risk/Opportunity management, supplier performance, supply chain metrics, make buy/make where strategies, tactical/strategic sourcing, etc.), and requirements management (i.e. FAR/DFARS, ITAR, OPSEC, security classification guides, public law, quality, warranty, etc.) The MPM identifies and secures Supply Chain resources to support the capture and execution plans and manages the overall supply chain responsibilities on a development program.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or similar is required
  • At least 6 years of progressive professional experience with a combination of experience in Project, Program, Product, Finance and/or Supplier Management is required
  • Ability to obtain final, active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Commitment to obtain MPM certification after experience in the role
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel and Power point)
  • U.S. Citizenship
Desired Education, Skills & Experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or similar
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), leadership abilities, and the ability to work in an IPT environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program objectives, and able to interface with all levels of internal management, supplier management.
  • Must be able to succeed in the high stress, fast paced environment of development.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to assign the appropriate priorities to the many tasks that they will be required to perform

Security Clearance: This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of a Secret security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
