Job Description:

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Manufacturing Technology Engineer to join our team in Palmdale, CA. This position is part of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Innovation group and has five major focus areas: Additive Manufacturing, Digital Technologies, Advanced Structures, Survivability, Automation and Assembly. Our responsibility is to conceive, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to the manufacturing floor to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. The skills we are looking for are creativity, leadership, communication, critical thinking, and thoroughness.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or 3 years with Master's Degree (STEM), or 0 years with PhD Degree (STEM)
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
Requires having the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret DoD Clearance and Special Program Access.
Travel 10-15%

Preferred Qualifications:
Solid modeling design skills (i.e., NX Siemens, CATIA, Solid Works)
Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem solving capabilities
Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements/expectations
Experience in the development, capture, and execution of R&D technology capabilities. Assessing maturity of new technology for transition to production
Composites and airframe fabrication, assembly, and LO coatings experience
Experience with authoring proposals, technical documents, and procedures
Composites, Metallics, Plastics, Additive, Digital materials and processes experience
Experience with CBA/ROI analysis and justifications
Manufacturing process development, tool design experience
Painting, coatings, and metals processing
Project / Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking)

Your projects will range in size from smaller to large scale efforts, across multiple programs. As a Principal Manufacturing Technology Engineer you will be challenged by owning a project from inception to completion.
