The New Moon Systems Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join a small team of engineers working in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment in Aurora, CO.

What You'll get to Do:



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing Installation Request for Changes (RFCs) to document changes to the operational baseline.
  • Developing documentation and training materials for hardware, software, and virtual machine system deliveries to operational sites.
  • Creating slides for gateway milestone meetings with factory, site, and Government stakeholders and facilitating/participating in the meetings.
  • Coordinating in-person training with site personnel and facilitating training sessions when required.
  • Working closely with members of other teams on the program and partner organizations to perform research and information gathering to develop the RFCs, documentation and training, and to assess the readiness of the information and team support to the installation.
  • Interfacing with SETAs and government stakeholders.
  • Short and long term planning and execution in support of multiple deliveries.
  • Supporting program proposals and impacting RFCs external to the program.

The selected candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong planning and organizational skills, be a quick learner and self starter, and have excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

A current and active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Engineer Systems or a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Systems:

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, or 3+ years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD; An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Current and active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Experience writing technical documentation.

Ability to work closely with members of other teams such as System Engineering, Development, Infrastructure, Integration, Test, Deployment, and Government representatives to achieve desired results quickly and efficiently.

Ability to adapt quickly to new processes, shifting priorities, demands, and timelines

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Visio

Ability to perform research of available materials to identify and extract required information.

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems:

Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of related experience, or 7+ years with a Masters; 4+ years with a PhD; An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Current and active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Experience writing technical documentation.

Ability to work closely with members of other teams such as System Engineering, Development, Infrastructure, Integration, Test, Deployment, and Government representatives to achieve desired results quickly and efficiently.

Ability to adapt quickly to new processes, shifting priorities, demands, and timelines

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Visio

Ability to perform research of available materials to identify and extract required information.

Preferred Qualifications:


Familiarity with the RFC and site delivery process

Experience writing and editing software/hardware technical documentation

Experience with operator training and creating associated materials

General understanding of hardware and network architecture

General understanding of signal processing and reporting

General understanding of a hardware/software system lifecycle

Experience with deliveries to operational sites

Ability to work independently with only general guidance

Experience on New Moon or legacy programs is a plus

Knowledge of NSIS-C

Experience with Jira and Confluence

Knowledge of MS Project

Experience mentoring/coaching junior and senior engineers
