Principal Engineering Planning Analyst

The Principal Engineering Planning Analyst...

Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for material planning. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. Prepares and monitors material requisitions and material schedules with production schedules in coordination with Global Supply Chain. Provides input to engineering specifications and production schedules and plans material movement within purchasing, warehouse and production. Supports the creation and generation of reports on material plans and schedules. Uses material requirements planning (MRP) systems. Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources. Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters. Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.


Additionally, the selected candidate will:
Set up, monitor and control costs for material
Perform analyses and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts materials are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
Perform or assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis
Prepare program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled
Responsible for ensuring adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
Incorporate changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
Assist with drafting, development and briefing of Risks and Opportunities

The ideal candidate will be a proven team player with strong communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree with 6 years of relevant experience; 4 Years of relevant experience with Masters. Four (4) additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Strong PC skills required with high level Excel skills, specifically the ability to insert pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting, etc.)
Prior financial analysis and/or reporting experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level security clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Earned Value Management or EVMS Software
Experience with Micro-Frame Program Manager (MPM), Cobra and SAP.
