Principal Engineer Systems

NGMS is seeking junior Systems Integration & Test engineers to support test and verification activities programs within the Ground Based Radars and Airborne ISR&T divisions in Baltimore, Maryland.

Qualified Integration and Test engineers will perform hands-on integration and testing of sophisticated RF sensor systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments; Synthesizes internal and external customer needs and requirements into system tests that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints; Participates in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for verifying system requirements; participates in I&T readiness reviews, design reviews and conducts audits of I&T program facilities; Coordinates integrated testing activities that may include environmental, reliability and the occasional flight test; Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program; Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive reports; Uses modeling and simulation tools to expedite testing of individual units before all system components are available and for troubleshooting and repair of failed units.

Qualified candidates must have an understanding of:
- LINUX/UNIX Operating Systems development at the kernel
- Programming Language C/C++
- Shell Scripting/ Python
- Technical ability in a lab based integration and test environment
- Integration and Test Hardware and Software
- A working knowledge of RF based test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.)
- VxWorks

Positions requires the flexibility to support assignments on multiple shifts, including 2 nd shift, reliability 24/7 testing, weekend and on-call support.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Software Systems Integration and Test Engineer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of professional experience; 3 Years with Master's, or 0 years with a PhD
  • Experience Testing and Troubleshooting Hardware and/or Software
  • Programming Skills in C/C++ in a Linux and/or Unix OS environment
  • Experience with shell scripting at the kernel level
  • General knowledge of RF based test equipment (Signal generators, spectrum analyzers,, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc)
  • Active DoD secret clearance that has been adjudicated within the last 5 years or higher level clearance with the willingness to pursue SAP/SAR clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VxWorks
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SAP/SAR access
