Job Summary
Northrop Grumman Innovations Systems is searching for an experienced Sr Mechanical Engineer to join our Systems Engineering Integration and Test team in the Launch Vehicle Division at our Chandler, AZ facility.

Job Responsibilities
Role Description & Responsibilities:
?The Sr Mechanical Engineer will serve as an Integration and Test (I&T) Engineer requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
?Daily responsibilities may require direct contact with launch vehicle flight hardware and solid rocket motors.
?Specific duties may include:
?Hands on testing at the system and subsystem levels.
?Developing and maintaining processes and procedures for the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems.
?Incorporating design changes on work in process or completed assemblies; documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions.
?Assisting with the design and development of tooling to aid in the integration and test process.
?Set-up and usage of data acquisition equipment
?Test data reduction and post processing
?Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
?The successful candidate will be able to work independently and complete assigned tasks without direct supervision.
?The candidate must be willing to occasionally work during odd hours (nights/weekends) and occasionally longer than normal (>40 hrs/wk) to meet proposal delivery deadlines.
?The candidate should possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously.

Basic Qualifications:
Hands on integration experience with multiple sub-systems or components is required.
Experience working with operational hazards involving energetic materials and devices, propulsion equipment, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, high voltage systems is required.
Skills to write test procedures and review test data to ensure that hardware is tested properly and has passed all tests are required.
Requires BS in Engineering &5 years or Masters in Engineering & 2 years.
Active DoD Secret level security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems LVD Integration and Test standards/guidelines and expectations is desired.
Experience with external customer interfacing (meetings, presentation, negotiation) is desired.
System testing and launch operations experience is desired.
Experience within the LabVIEW systems test development environment is desired
Experience using CAD (i.e., NX) software is desired
Experience with interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T is desired
Experience in selecting mechanical & electrical sensors and data acquisition equipment is desired
