Principal Electronics Engineer/Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer

The Field Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Electronics/Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer based out of Annapolis, MD.
What You'll get to Do:
In this job you will support the AQS-24 family of systems. This will include analyzing performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of side looking sonar systems, tow body control systems,and launch and recovery systems.As well as having input on system design for alternate variants to the product line and engineering system improvements. Being attached to the Annapolis Field Engineering center of excellence means that travel is likely.

This position can be filled at a Principal Electronics Engineer or a Sr. Electronics Engineer based on the qualifications below:

Basic Qualifications For a Principal Electronics Engineer:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in related field and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Masters Degree in related field; 0 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Experience with analyzing performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of side looking sonar systems, tow body control systems,and launch and recovery systems.

  • Experience with system design for alternate variants to the product line and engineering system improvements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with AQS-24 family of systems.

  • Experience supporting sonar systems and/or supporting undersea systems.

  • Bachelors of Science degree in related field and 9 years of related experience; 5 years with a Masters Degree in related field; 3 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Experience with analyzing performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of side looking sonar systems, tow body control systems,and launch and recovery systems.

  • Experience with system design for alternate variants to the product line and engineering system improvements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with AQS-24 family of systems.

  • Experience supporting sonar systems and/or supporting undersea systems.
