Principal Electronics Engineer

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for anElectronics Engineer - III to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The selected candidate will be a critical member of the Ground Segment design team. The design team is responsible for the architecture, design, and configuration of Global Hawk ground segments, which require integration of commercial IT equipment with military/aerospace specific weapon replaceable unit (WRAs) in a highly controlled aerospace environment.
Essential Functions:
  • Design and Develop engineering artifacts for the system architecture and configuration.
  • Maintaining build schedule to the program requirements.
  • Build, integrate and test software/hardware systems for command and control systems and ensure that the installations are properly implemented.
  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required.
  • Develop and release acceptance test procedures.
  • Work with vendors to specify hardware and generate altered item drawings

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and5 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience working with servers, networking equipment, and communication systems.
  • A currentactive in scope DoD Secret security clearance is required for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline is preferred.
  • An active DoD Top Secret Clearance is preferred.
