Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Principal Cyber Information Assurance Analyst 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The work location is based in Springfield, VA but may require local travel to DoS sites in the Washington D.C. area and short trips within CONUS. This Principal Cyber Information Assurance Analyst 3 position supports the Vanguard 2.2.1 Contract and the Department of State (DoS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program. Vanguard provides enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for desktops, servers, networks, firewalls, and enterprise applications across the Department. This position specifically supports assessment and authorization (A&A) of DoS major systems under IRM purview. This position requires significant interaction with IRM Government personnel and Contractor Teams, and the DoS Information Assurance (IA) office.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with IRM system owners to prepare them for A&A activities. The successful candidate will perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments
  • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction, and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits
  • Assists in the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), through the required government policy and can make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities
  • Performs analysis to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards
  • Supports the formal security test and evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pretest preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports
  • Documents the results of Assessment and Authorization activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system security plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M
  • Periodically conducts a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed. Information Assurance (IA) office
Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree andat least 6years of relevant experience; Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Experience supporting large enterprise systems in classified and unclassified environments
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for Government customers
  • Experience with 800-53 controls, audits and corrective actions (POA&Ms), and system security plans
  • Familiarity with security hardening of classified and unclassified systems and applications
  • Active Secret Level security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Department of State customer experience
  • Master's degree with a Security emphasis
  • Security+, CISSP, or other Security related certifications
  • Systems and Security Engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with DoD STIGS and/or Diplomatic Security Guides and government ATO efforts
