Principal Cost Schedule and Control Analyst


SAS Business Operations Finance is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join our team at the El Segundo, CA site supporting the California Consolidated Manufacturing Center. This position will be responsible for the daily business and financial activities of a set of Space programs in the California CMC within Space and Airborne Systems. Responsibilities include cost/schedule control and analysis, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), forecasting, estimate-at-completion (EAC), variance analysis, data reviewing and reporting, partnering with the Program Manager, and CAM’s/IPTLs, Material Program Managers, and Mission Area PMO/Finance and provide personal involvement in the successful execution of contracts. Other responsibilities are to drive the finance process for a set of programs to ensure and influence processes related to EVM policies and procedures and ensuring we adhere to them with regards to Material EV, BOM traceability, production labor and production support labor. This position will serve as a lead to other junior analysts within the team. The lead analyst will be responsible for leading the way to identifying and creating a PRISM material analysis process as it relates to development programs and newly rolled out requirements defined by the EVM community. The lead analyst will be responsible for training and guiding junior analysts in this process and serve as a subject matter expert to the CA CMC Ops finance team. In addition, this position is responsible for actively identifying risks that affect cost and/or schedule and providing proactive analysis of all financial aspects of the projects. Performance of additional ad-hoc analysis will be required as well as support of 5 Year and AOP forecasting.

  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize program management systems and tools; and independently create and accurately analyze cost data
  • Organizational skills in leading/coordinating program personnel toward common finance goals by setting priorities and working within deadlines
  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines (Contracts, Operations, Engineering, etc.) in program development and execution
  • Communication skills (written and oral) to support the preparation and presentation of written briefs and summaries for internal/external dissemination
  • Experience in organizing, preparing and presenting briefings to customers, management and peers
  • Individual must be a self-starter and an independent worker in support of the program
  • Experience in using SAP Business Systems and experience in PRISM EV
  • Top Secret Security Clearance
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
