Mission Essential is looking for qualified Linguists to support USSOCOM Linguist Support Services contract.
· Linguists are required to read, write, listen, and speak with clearance and concise grammar and pronunciation in Polish and English. Positions will require the ability to perform the following:
- DOCEX: document translation
- Audio Translation: listening to recorded or real-time audio and translating
- Verbal Translation: verbal translation with locals, law enforcement, military, government officials, etc.
- Cultural Awareness: provide cultural knowledge in translation, interpretation, training or other mission support requirements.
· Linguists will be assigned to a specific country but based on mission requirements; they can be required to complete temporary duty assignment work.
· Linguist must be willing to go on missions and be physically fit to perform duties required;
Must be able to function effectively for extended periods, including high pressure and stress· Must be able to think quickly and deal with issues in a timely and appropriate manner
· Must be willing and able to change tasks and mission requirements at a moment’s notice.
· Must be willing to live and work in extreme, austere, and harsh conditions.
Must be willing able to drive a vehicle if necessary· Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds over your head
· Walk at lead 3 miles in rough terrain
· Carry 30+ pound backpack and gear without issue
· Typing ability with basic computer skills, use of Microsoft Operating Systems
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
· Must be able to obtain a Secret level or higher clearance
· Must pass all language testing in target language and English (Read, Write, Speak, Listen)
· Must pass medical clearance requirements
· Must be able to obtain a country clearance/visa, if applicable
Must be approved by the end user· Deployed Linguist Experience with the U.S. Department of Defense
· Special Skills Training (parachuting, rappelling, fast rope, etc)
Experience working with Special Operation Forces (SOF)
