PIF Affordability Manager

Reporting to the Precision Indirect Fires (PIF) Program Director, this position serves as the key leader for affordability activities which will be comprised of program affordability initiatives which impact the PIF family of products. Individual will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of affordability, production manufacturing, and R6s within their assigned program and therefore collaborate with the core R6s Team and other functions/programs/customers. This position will work closely with program leadership and program teams to establish cost baselines, identify cost drivers, generate and prioritize affordability opportunities, seek funding, and execute affordability projects. This position will engage in systemic business critical processes with Customers, Suppliers and other partners in support of program goals and priorities. The position will be accountable to yearly financial, engagement and qualification goals.

The position has direct, frequent interaction with Program Director to drive Vision and Strategy ensuring buy-in and support.

Tasks:
  • Drive hard savings (EAC, MR) and profit margin across function through project execution
  • Encouraging the entrepreneurial mindset centered on data driven decisions and promoting quick action toward innovative solutions
  • Partnering at multiple levels within enterprise to ensure program execution success
  • Communicating clearly and removing barriers to execution across the enterprise
  • Collaborating with other programs and functional areas on shared projects, prioritization of projects and all reporting
  • Focus high performing talent (matrix managing) during brief impactful projects to achieve aggressive performance and cost targets
  • Strengthening engagement through coordinated affordability, six sigma projects and innovative execution efforts across programs, functions and product lines
  • Presenting program status utilizing business and project management tools and procedures including IPDS, IMP/IMS, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts and EACs as required

Minimum Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, master's degree preferred
  • 8 years of experience of relevant expanding experience
  • Demonstrated success, high drive for results, understands the organizational "big picture", driving profitability, and promotes collaboration within the organization and out
  • Demonstrated results leading complex, cross-functional projects at program sponsorship level
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain by day one of employment
  • Demonstrated technical ability and capability in alignment with this role
  • Demonstrated success navigating a highly matrixed organization effectively using solid influencing skills
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and drive business results with limited information
Preferred:
  • Demonstrated excellent, influential, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated drive for results; experience with key processes in functional area
  • Master of Business Administration and/or Master of Engineering in Industrial, Systems, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Cognizant of international requirements: ITAR/EAR, EXIM
  • Knowledge of financial processes and new business investments
  • General awareness of IPDS: Program deliverables by stage and gate
  • Broad business acumen
