Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has anexciting career opportunityfor aPayload Radar Responsible Engineer (RE)to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on a development program at the Autonomous Systems Center of Excellence in San Diego, CA. As the (RE) PayloadRadar Engineer you will be the developing advanced technical ideas and guiding the development into a final product.

Essential Functions:

  • Interface with suppliers, IPT leadership, and program managers to help manage schedules, personnel, and provide status. Help provide Radar subsystem coordination across the engineering organization.
  • Assist in managing schedules, personnel, resources, and working groups.
  • Work with Global Supply Chain and Security to organize and track the movement of LRUs and test equipment.
  • Working with Systems Engineering, this position requires the successful candidate to understand, derive and maintain applicable system and subsystem requirements, ICDs, and requirements verification documentation.
  • Build technical change packages and brief at Technical/Engineering Review Boards. Coordinate and track the changes through the approval cycle.
  • Help define and maintain models for Radar subsystem performance analysis.
  • Analyze laboratory data, and verify that data meets requirements.
  • Log and track defects in a metrics tool and support Software Review Board (SRB) discussions.
  • Provide training to junior engineers as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of related engineering experience or a Master's Degree and 12 years of experience or a PhD. and 9 years of experience.
  • Experience working with Radar systems.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance as well as access to Special Programs.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Greater than 9 years of experience working with Radar and Payload Systems.
  • Technical writing skills including writing proposals and presenting to Chief Engineer and Executives.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with access to Special Programs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
