Perspecta has an immediate need for a OS 365 Engineer in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities:

·On-premise exchange and Office 365 environments including hybrid environments with Azure Active Directory Connect 

·Provide intelligent, professional and comprehensible IT Services for Clients

  • Provide on-site server maintenance

  • Understand how client uses IT resources and then plan, manage and execute the onboarding process & special projects

  • Collaborate with other staff members when presented with a challenge beyond your expertise

  • Communicate with the IT Service Manager regarding your schedule

  • Inform IT Service Manager of any client issues or requests outside of our IT Service agreement

  • Adhere to our conduct regulations and represent The Tech Consultants in a professional manner at all times

  • Protect the security of the client’s and the company’s information & data

  • When not at a client’s location be logged into our help desk queue to help out our front-end help desk engineers.

  • Understands cloud architecture, and work with the team  for hosting complex application workloads in Azure

  • Configures the following: Windows Platform; servers and local storage; file and share access; print and document services; servers for remote management; IPv4 and IPv6 addressing

  • Maintains virtualized server environment on Microsoft HyperV and VMware

  • Deploys and configures DHCP and DNS services

  • Installs domain controllers

  • Creates and manages Active Directory users and computers, OUs, GPOs

  • Configures application restriction policies and Windows Firewall

  • Deploys and manages server images

  • Implements patch management

  • Monitors network devices, servers, virtualization, application health

  • Implements automation and service offerings

  • Supports compliance, configuration, and updates

  • Supports backup and recovery

  • Supports cloud integration including public and private clouds.

  • Provides technical expertise on integration activities that are part of a solution release. 

  • Participates in integration testing and ensures engineered solution completes integration testing successfully.

  • Contributes to knowledge management artifacts and solution documentation.  
Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total).

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Active  Secret clearance

  • 3 – 5 years of experience with Windows Platforms solutions with product-specific knowledge of Microsoft Windows.

  • Experienced with Office 365 (cloud), Server 2016, SQL Server/SQL Cluster, Azure, Hyper-V.

  • Knowledge of web development tools such as Drupal and Docker is desired.

  • Experience with ITIL, CMMI, and/or PMP processes and implementation.

  • 1-3 years of Technical document writing experience.

  • 3-5 years of software engineering.

  • 3-5 years of solution development.

  • Extensive experience with standard scripting languages and techniques (VBS, PowerShell)

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Microsoft client operating systems including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and their use in global enterprise environments.

  • Microsoft OS 365 cloud services administration

  • On-premise virtualization including VMWare and Hyper-V

  • Cloud virtualization including  Azure

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users

  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team

  • Outstanding & effective troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Knowledge of common desktop applications such as MS Office Suite, web browsers, Etc.

  • Knowledge working with Windows desktop, Windows Server, and Mac OSX operating systems

  • Knowledge of AD, DHCP, DNS, Print Services, File Services, GPOs and other common Windows Server roles.

  • Computer networking including switching, routing, VLANs, WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, Etc.

  • Proficient in the use of remote-control utilities.

  • Ability to learn and document processes of third-party applications that you might not be familiar with.

  • Utilize a ticketing system to resolve, document, escalate and communicate professionally with client and internal staff

  • Knowledge of DNS security and Cisco Umbrella

  • Use of RMM tools

  • SonicWALL Certifications a plus

  • VMware Certifications a plus

  • Microsoft Certifications a plus

  • CompTIA Certifications a plus

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and other enterprise applications, including ownership, support and management in multi-language environments.

  • Experience with and knowledge of AD design and GPO management.

  • Understanding of application packaging and deployment technologies used in corporate environments including Windows Installer.

  • Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment.

  • Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation.

  • Results orientated and schedule driven.
