Operations Manufacturing Manager, Applied Modular Technologies

Job Description:
The Manufacturing and Test Engineering Center is looking for an experienced professional to develop and implement strategies that will enable the successful production of Advanced Modular Technologies at RMS. This role will be responsible for creating and executing Manufacturing strategies to support the development, manufacture, and sustainment of Modular Products that offer Discriminating Capabilities to the Business Units and Product Lines which position Raytheon for new contract awards and maximize the use of company investment. You will be the Operations lead responsible for working with the Composability team and Applied Modular Technologies team to define common Manufacturing strategies.

Successful strategies will:

  • Establish and execute plans and CONOPs for common/modular product manufacturing to support RMS business
  • Ensure long-term factory planning and supply base support for the common products
  • Establish manufacturing, factory test, and depot capabilities for AMT geared towards standardized subsystems and components
  • Maximize the use and re-use of robust, preferred manufacturing processes during the design and production of modular products
  • Evaluate the long term business impact of producing modular products and optimize the product/process design for quality, schedule and cost

This role will engage directly with Operations leadership (Program, Factory and Functional), Engineering leadership, Quality leadership and Supply Chain leadership to develop Manufacturing strategies and identify resources to support AMT activities.

As the world’s largest missile manufacturer, Operations is rapidly investing in advanced manufacturing strategies and solutions in all of the Missile Systems product design activities and manufacturing facilities. It is imperative these strategies and solutions are developed and deployed in a way that is compatible with our new modular product designs.

Required Skills:

  • 10 years of experience in Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with increasing responsibilities supporting cross functional projects and collaborative efforts
  • Experience with manufacturing and design engineering tools and processes across the product life cycle.
  • Experience with product modularity concepts/strategies, design reuse, and shared designs
  • Experience with multiproduct factories and shared manufacturing processes
  • Experience in the areas of digital manufacturing, process simulation, and factory digital twin
  • Experience with product design, design for manufacturing and recurring cost estimation
  • Experience with budgets, estimates and cost account management.
  • Experience interacting with executive leadership and collaborating with Directors of various disciplines.
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD secret security clearance.
  • Experience with program management tools such as earned value, basis of estimate development, and project planning.
Desired Skills:
  • Masters of Science in a STEM related major is desired.
  • Experience with change control boards and multi program/discipline governance models
  • Cost Account Management (CAM) certification
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Active DOD secret security clearance.
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM related major
