Summary:

  • The NPSTA Training Certificates Administrator is primarily responsible for maintaining records, certifications, accreditation for all NASA Protective Service Special Agents and NASA Agency-wide contract security officers. The NPSTA program is administered by NASA HQ OPS and managed by the KSC PSO. The NPSTA Training Certificates Administrator falls under the direction of the NASA HQ Office Protective Services and ensures all training and certification records are maintained in accordance with Training Resource Automation Center (TRAC II) guidelines including but not limited to federal, state, local, NASA and KSC policies, procedures and regulations. (TRAC II is an Agency record system used to monitor and track all NPSTA required training and historical records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Training Resource Automation Center (TRAC) to track Historical Training Information which includes a complete history of all training and certifications received by each security officer.

  • Maintain Current Employee Information to include assignment changes and assignment requests made by security officers.

  • Maintain physical fitness information to track the physical qualifications of security officers along with all due dates based on contract requirements.

  • Maintain a notification of scheduled training to provide a control point for scheduling employees for training and tracking training qualifications. These programs interface with the Master Training Plan, Weapons, and Physical Fitness Modules.

  • Identify all re-qualification of specific courses to include tracking due dates for all course requirements and assist in scheduling future training. Tracking means shall include generating updated reports to NASA/Range Security 30 days before expiration of current certification.

  • Verify Weapons Qualification and Re-qualification requirements.

  • Schedule personnel for physicals through the center Occupational Health Facility.

  • Schedule mandatory training through Training Certification Record System (TCRS) and SATERN.

  • Conduct monthly driver license checks for all personnel on the KPSC II contract.

  • Obtain the appropriate certifications or qualifications. Examples include but not limited to: 100 percent of security officers shall be Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) qualified.

  • Maintain timely records of student performance and instructor certifications.

  • Conduct NPSTA business with utmost integrity when dealing with other members of Academy staff, students, public, and customers.

  • Must be able to provide support and assistance to NASA Protective Service Training Academy.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.

  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Must have 2+ years data entry and 3+ years’ experience in an office environment

  • Must have the ability to handle high volume of redundant typing and prioritize and organize time and work efficiently.

  • Must have working knowledge of database systems, data entry platforms and knowledge of PC Windows environment.

  • Must have ability to perform high volume of typing and maintain excellent attention to detail.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start.

  • Must be able to meet drug testing and alcohol – free workforce requirements to include random drug and/or alcohol testing.

  • Must speak, read, write, and understand the English language, apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions and training material.

  • Have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture.

  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
