Network Unified Comms Engineer

We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement of AFRICOM’s mission objectives.

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is seeking a UC Collaboration Engineer based in Stuttgart, Germany to be a part of the AFRICOM Engineering team to support enterprise-wide engineering efforts of the unclassified and classified communications networks for AFRICOM.

The UC Collaboration Engineer should have Enterprise level IP Voice and Video Telephony engineering and administration experience in Call Routing, Design, Configuration, troubleshooting and support of mid to large-sized enterprise network environments.

Duties include providing best practice design, configuration and implementation of UC technologies per customer requirements, high-level troubleshooting support to operations and maintenance, monitoring, upgrades, network performance reviews, improvement action plans, problem determination and resolution, of the AFRICOM/ EUCOM unclassified and classified Video/IP Telephony architecture. Applicant must have a solid understanding of voice technologies, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager), voice gateways / Session Border Controllers, SIP, H.323, Unity Connection, IM &Presence, Jabber, Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Cisco Expressway/ VCS, TMS, Prime Collaboration, Cisco Meeting Server, MCU and VoIP/Video endpoints.

The UC Collaboration Engineer should have technical expertise and understanding in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection for UC environments, such as VMWare, Cisco Unified Computing System, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.

More About the Role:

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, have strong leadership skills, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner.  The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts.  The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.

Deliver infrastructure designs, builds, and escalated support to services and products. Support network engineering activities that span across multiple disciplines and platforms. Perform engineering functions found in the service design domain and provide escalated support to incident management. Support engineering efforts to design, build, test, integrate, transition, implement, document, and train when transitioned to IT Operations Management. Analyzing and making recommendations for hardware and software standardization.

Additionally, the Network Unified Comms Engineer will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required. 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to maintain
  • BA/BS + 5 years recent specialized or AA/AS +7 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized experience
  • CCNP –Collaboration Certification
  • CompTIA CASP + (IAT Level III or greater)
  • Enterprise experience with Cisco Voice and Unified Communications Suite.  
  • Strong IP telephony background, with experience in Cisco based solutions and product line.  
  • IP routing and switching knowledge to plan, design, and support voice on the network.
  • Ability to implement new configurations based on design specifications.
  • Good understanding of Cisco UCS environment, VMware
  • TESA eligibility

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • ITIL v3 – Foundation
  • CCIE Collaboration Certification
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
  • Experience with DoD IT security requirements
