Network Security Engineer - IRES - HSV

The Network Security Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This positionrequires the candidate to proactively and reactively analyze and guideremediation for vulnerabilities on customer networksto improve enterprisewide security posture. This position can be located at Redstone Arsenal, AL or Schriever AFB, CO.
Candidate will:
  • Perform and analyzevulnerability scans withoutimpacting network operations utilizing Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Nessus scanning tool.
  • Perform network securitythreat/impact assessments and provide those assessments to various levelsof leadership.
  • Support AntiMalware program,forward alerts and warnings to customers, respondto customer malwarereports and assist in implementing protective/anti malware measures.
  • Assist with the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)program to include:dissemination, monitoring, and tracking of IAVM notifications to customers; reviewof IAVM Plan of Action and Milestones; provide technical assistance as required.
  • Assist with hostbased security across the enterprise utilizing DoD Host based SecuritySystem (HBSS), to include: antimalware, hostbased intrusion protection system, data loss prevention, and rogue systemdetection.
  • Draft Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) alert and notification messagesto warn customers of threats and provide countermeasure recommendations to defend against identified threats.
  • Support the development, establishment, review and update of DCO procedures, processes, manuals, and other documentation.
  • Work in a Team Environment that is geographicallydispersed.
  • Possess aptitude in oral and written communications, with excellent technical writing skills.
  • Be able to multitask and prioritize various projects and assignments in a dynamic work environment in order to meet scheduled/unscheduled customer requests.


Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HighSchool Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; an Associate’s degree and 10 years of general experience; a Bachelor’s and 8 years of general experience; a Master’s and 6 years of general experience. Also requires 6 years’ experience in Directory Services (e.g. Windows 2000+ AD, LDAP, DHCP, etc.); Operating Systems (e.g. UNIX, Windows, MS Exchange); Internet Protocols(e.g. DNS, Http, SMTP, SSL, etc.); Firewallconfiguration and troubleshooting; Multiple Network Types (e.g. WAN, LAN, VxLAN, SDN); or managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Telecommunications infrastructures.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (CE) (e.g. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP).
  • Must have and maintain a DoD 8570.01M CSSP Analyst Certification (e.g. CEH, CFR, CCNA Cyber Ops, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GISCP, SCYBER).
  • Experience performing security compliance scans across a WAN (ACAS preferred).
  • Strong background to include configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment of host based security (HBSS preferred).
  • Candidate must have an active DoD Secret security clearance to start.
  • Be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be willing to work rotatingshifts in 24x7x365operational environment and respond quicklyto emergencies as needed.
  • Experience with most MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Must be willing to travel 25%.
Desired Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Cybersecurity or related field.
  • DoD 8570.01M IAT III or IAM III Certification (CISSP, CASP, CISM, CEH).
  • Top Secret Final Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity with DoD DCO/Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP)guiding security policies and procedures.
