Perspecta has an immediate need for a Network Engineering Lead in the United States 

The Lead will support the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs). Assist in designing and managing the WAN infrastructure and any processes related to the WAN. Provide Production Support of the Network, including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution client Networks. Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Support the dispatch of circuit and hardware vendors involved in the resolution process. Support the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. A working knowledge is desirable in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.

Education and Experience Required:
8+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (11+ years in total).

Certification in either Cisco CCIE Route/Switch or JNCIE-ENT

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Understands the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)

• Assist in the development and delivery of strategic planning initiatives and network architecture to support strategic goals.

• Effective system engineering and engineering management of all infrastructure networking, including data-communication needs related to application solutions, operating systems, computing platforms, and infrastructure tools.

• Develop performance management and performance reporting in order to project future needs of the network infrastructure, networked services, and optimized bandwidth utilization.

• Routinely review, update, and test disaster recovery plans and failover technologies and software, including backup and restore functionality established for network device configurations.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security Architects to design and implement secure network architectures.

• Provide support for Microsoft Windows and Linux server software, internetworking, and troubleshooting.

•Demonstrated experience with some of, but not necessarily all of:

o          Software Defined Networking (SDN)

o          Multi-Protocol Border Gateway Protocol (MP-BGP)

o          VMware/KVM (Host Machine Virtualization) Networking

oCisco Catalyst multi-layer switching topologies and technologies

oCisco ASA/PIX firewalls deployed in enterprise datacenter solutions

oCisco VPN

oF5 Big-IP LTM and TMOS

oF5 Big-IP ASM

oHP blade chassis Virtual Connect switching

• Additional Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

oExcellent interpersonal skills, organization, project, and time management.

oMust be able to effectively communicate with key staff and management with excellent oral/presentation and written communication skills.

oProfessional experience with state or federal IT organizations and IT projects.

oProfessional experience with FIPS, FISMA, and HIPAA standards and protocols.

oSkilled at delivering robust network designs and solutions.

oMastery of routed network IP protocols and architecture configurations.

oSkilled with shell scripting languages, notably Power Shell, UNIX bash/bourne/korn shells, or Visual Basic/Perl/Python system administration scripting.

oAdept with Microsoft Office Applications
