Network Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of multiple aspects of telecommunications, internetworking, and data systems networking. Exhibit knowledge of telecommunications, Internetworking, and video, voice, and data network converged networks (VVIDs) network arena and routing and switching infrastructures, transport technologies, network management, IP telephony integration, advanced network security, ISP and dial-up, system network architecture (SNA), and IP migration. Support IP, frame relay, and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM)—VVID networks, supervise and manage the implementation of specific aspects of telecommunications, internetworking, and data systems networking, and supervise a team of engineers in highly complex data, Internetworking, and telecommunications network projects. Provide lead engineer support for a specific technology area associated with telecommunications, Internetworking, data systems networking, and computer telephony integration (CTI)/VVID networks. Perform technical lead management responsibilities. Provide in-depth analysis on interoperability, protocols, services, and migration and technology transfer programs for CTI and VVID networks. Provide advanced technical support in one or more specific areas associated with network architecture technologies, interoperability, and integration for CTI/VVID networks and perform other duties, as required. 

Basic Qualifications:

-5 years of experience with network design and implementation

-Experience with engineering and implementing voice networks using Cisco Voice technologies, including Cisco CUBE and Cisco Unified Communications Manager 11.x or latest

-Experience with configuring Cisco Call Managers to support 3rd party SIP clients per the Cisco Call Manager NIAP administration guide

-Experience with setting up and configuring the Cisco CUBE and establishing SIP trunks between CUBEs and the call manager

-Experience with DoD deployments and Cisco network switches, routers, and firewalls, including ASA, ISR, and Catalyst platforms as well as configuring and troubleshooting SSL and IPSec VPNs

-Knowledge of routing protocols, including RIP, EIGRP, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF and PKI implementation, including X.509 certificates and certificate authorities and VLAN design schemes for network separation

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree or 5+ years of experience with the military

-Security+ Certification

-Professional Certification for Voice

-Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration Certification
-4 years of experience with voice-related work preferred

-Experience in coordinating with the commercial mobile industry to assess mobile technologies for the US government

-Experience with working in classified spaces to implement network solutions

-Experience with implementing certificate-based encryption on network devices and configuring and deploying type 1 Encryption devices

-Experience with Juniper networking devices

-Experience with leading and developing commercial solutions and supporting the maturation of capability packages

-Knowledge of commercial solutions capability packages

-Ability to initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks independently, as identified and communicate complex network principles and designs to clients
