Network Engineer

What You’ll Get to Do:

Lead a team of network engineers designing services for a world-wide area network.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for providing solutions to satisfy architecture requirement. You must be able to design, support, troubleshoot, and recommend alternate solutions for a United States Government customer network within a team work environment. You must be able to participate in engineering analysis and technical support and have foundational knowledge of BGP (EBGP/IBGP), OSPF, MPLS, and QoS strategies. The successful candidate will be required to provide program management assistance, contribute input to schedules, as well as, risk and cost management.  Strong communication skills are required within the team of network engineers as well as excellent communication skills with Government sponsor at broad levels of management.  Strong technical writing and presentation skills will enable success in the role.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers to complete multiple complex engineering projects
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills among network engineering team and customer management
  • 8+ years’ experience engineering Wide Area Networks
  • 8+ years documenting network device configuration item designs
  • Experience writing configuration item documentation and creating network diagrams using Visio
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routers, switches and firewalls
  • Experience with both Cisco and Juniper command line interfaces
  • Experience managing a team of Network Engineers on a design project
  • CISCO and/or Juniper certifications
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical/problem solving ability, time management and organizational skills


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with software developers to enable an Operational Support Systems to automate the provisioning of network devices Experience in virtual routing solutions
  • Ability to write scripts to provision network devices
  • CCIE

Education:

This position typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, but for this position a Bachelor's Degree in IT related subject or higher plus 4-7 years; a Doctorate with 2 years; a Masters with 3 years; or an Associates with 8 years is acceptable.
