SAIC is looking for a Network Engineer Principle in the Eglin AFB area.

Network Engineer Principal, C4I systems Provide Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) support for existing Government-owned Joint Staff IT infrastructure; the planning and support for network operations and movement and installation of Information Systems (IS) equipment such as a 40 lb. uninterruptible power supply into a computer rack at a height of 48 inches from the floor. Instrumentation and Communications Networks. Deliver instrumentation and communications systems and processes, in the form of an integrated technical architecture, used to collect data and information during evaluation events. Technical Services Support. This positon is a team member in a multi-disciplined group providing analytical and technical services to the Joint Deployable Analysis Team (JDAT) supporting the Joint Staff J6 Deputy Director for Cyber and Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integration (JS J6 DD C5I). The JDAT Division conducts field evaluations and analysis on Command and Control Information Systems and Procedures (C2ISP) to inform at least two Department of Defense (DOD) Core Processes: The Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and the Defense Acquisition System (DAS). The team member may provide support interfacing with the following sub-tasks. This Task Order groups technical services support into the functional areas of Systems Administration (includes computers), Communications, Cybersecurity, Software, Networks, or Instrumentation. System Administration support: Provide Microsoft Active Directory, Virtualization, and Physical/Virtual Server Management support for existing Government-owned Joint Staff IT infrastructure; the design, operation and sustainment of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment to support existing Government-owned Joint Staff IT infrastructure; and movement and installation of IS equipment such as a 40 lbs. uninterruptible power supply into a computer rack at a height of 48 inches from the floor. Networks support: Provide Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) support for existing Government-owned Joint Staff IT infrastructure; the planning and support for network operations and movement and installation of Information Systems (IS) equipment such as a 40 lb. uninterruptible power supply into a computer rack at a height of 48 inches from the floor. Software support: Provide C# (Sharp) and C++ programming languages support for existing Government-owned Joint Staff software tools, and support for the Joint Information Environment (JIE) and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). Cybersecurity support: Provide Information Assurance support to include, but not limited to, certification and accreditation, vulnerability management, risk management, and information systems security. Communications support: Provide support for current and emerging military and commercial communications systems, (e.g. point-to-point, satellite, radio frequency, network radio systems, and spectrum management) (experience with wireless and cellular is strongly desired); and support for radio frequency planning, designing, and implementation for military exercises and movement of equipment such as a 40 lb. uninterruptible power supply into a computer rack at a height of 48 inches from the floor. Instrumentation support: Provide support to capture numerical data and free text information using commercial off-the-shelf, government-owned or self-fabricated instrumentation systems; and movement of equipment such as a 40 lb. uninterruptible power supply into a computer rack at a height of 48 inches from the floor.

The candidate may design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities. Prepares the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. May conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis. May evaluate new technology. Duties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
