Job Description:

As the Network Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for Tier III network support of a custom cloud datacenter build in Department of Defense (DoD) Classified and Unclassified environments. This position requires complex architectural decisions and the identification & resolution of complicated incidents related to Brocade ICX/VDX switches (L2/L3), Palo Alto 5000 Series Next Generation Firewalls and F5 Load Balancers. This engineer will work closely with vendor-supplied Engineers as well as Compute, Storage and Systems Engineers and will serve as the final escalation point for all network related decisions. The candidate will also provide technical support to Tier II & lower network technicians throughout the build and subsequent application migration process. A Subject Matter Expert level understanding of switching & routing processes & protocols and advanced firewall configuration, monitoring and management is required. In addition, the successful candidate will have a solid understanding of load balancing & application delivery concepts and techniques. Previous experience securing Classified and Unclassified networks in a DoD environment according to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) as well as obtaining system accreditation is a must.

Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Information Security or equivalent experience.

-
Minimum five (5) years’ of network administration/engineering experienceis.

-
Experience with collapsed core network design.

-
Solid understanding of IP Subnetting and IP Address Management.

-
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

-
Provide subject-matter expertise regarding network architecture, engineering, implementation and verification.

-
Identify, diagnose, and resolve highly complex network problems.

-
Proactively analyze vulnerabilities in the network and provide strategy/options for mitigation.

-
Manage all network hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance, including related management and monitoring tools.

-
Recommend network improvements to accommodate constantly evolving build/design requirements.

-
Manage vendor-supplied engineers and hold them accountable to contractual obligations.

-
Assist Vendors and other Systems Integrator personnel with logical/physical/architectural network documentation.

-
Knowledge of HP Servers & Blade Chassis, 3PAR Storage, VMware ESXi, Windows & Linux Operating systems is also a plus.

Ability to work and participate within a team environment.

Required Certifications:

-
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher.

-
Comp TIA Security+ or Certified Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP).

Clearance Requirement:

This position requires an active Department of Defense issued “Secret” security clearance.

Travel Requirement:

This position requires 30-40% travel.
