We are looking for aNetwork Engineer that has the ability to telework.

Responsibilities

The person that fills this position will be expected to perform the following:

  • Provide the client secure access to the commercial internet through both wired and wireless solutions, be accessed through standard commercial desktop and mobile data and voice devices and improve the user’s experience.
  • The solution will provide transport to existing DoD networks requiring authentication via a robust, reliable, isolated and secure network, running in parallel to the existing campus network.
  • Assessments of the base network environment is expected to yield a series of recommendations to improve network performance and agility.
  • Provide network architecture and on a day-to-day basis to satisfy field IT requirements.
  • Work on network upgrades and site build outs with IT security best practices.
  • Assess wireless landscape and come up with detailed plan and documentation to mitigate and improve network health.
  • Work as an architect to deploy and manage campus security solutions – Aruba ClearPass infrastructure, Cisco / PAN VPN, RSA Two Factor Authentication.
  • Assess WAN and LAN performance and improve QoS strategies on MPLS and SD-WAN networks.
  • Work on next-generation projects with cloud-based services in AWS and Azure. • Assess WAN and LAN performance periodically and improve QoS strategies on MPLS and SDWAN networks.
  • Revamp new network initiatives like multicast networks and SDWAN technologies to introduce corporate video streaming service globally.
  • Work with a suite of network monitoring tools like SolarWinds Orion, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and other data analysis tools like NetFlow and Splunk to help tune and improve network infrastructure health.
  • Assess Network from the Edge Router inward, all components of ICAN Wired and Wireless, Classified and Unclassified networks
  • Assess the current performance management
  • Assess the Network from the Edge Router inward, all components of the campus network, Wired and Wireless, Classified and Unclassified networks
  • Define information requirements and templates to obtain an understanding of the base network environment
  • Designs and plans network communications systems.
  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
  • Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
Qualifications

Required:

  • HS and 14 + years or BS/BA and 8 + years of related experience in the following area:
    • Cisco Network platform –CCIE Routing/Switching + Security
    • Enterprise Wireless design and Architecture Cisco - Mist
    • Large scale PAN Firewalls and Aruba ClearPass / Cisco AnyConnect Deployment expertise, Enterprise Routing and Campus Switching, Nexus data center switching,
    • Cloud-based networking technologies in AWS, Azure or equivalent. WAN optimization technologies. Exposure to SDN and network virtualization technologies like NSX, Nutanix, HCI
    • Certification: Active CCNA (Bonus: Aruba wireless certification(s))
    • Aruba experience - ACCX ACMX ACMP ACDP ACCP or ACSP certifications highly desirable.
    • Aruba Airewave, Aruba Clearpass, and Aruba 8.x experience highly desired.
    • Active secret clearance required

Preferred:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, and experience with cross functional managements
  • Communicate across communities with exceptional written and oral communications skills, including executive-level presentations
  • Leadership experience with diverse, multi-domain, distributed program teams
