Network Engineer Associate

The Network Engineer Associate position will provide direct operational support to the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation (CFI) located in Suffolk, VA. This position will be a member of the Enterprise Business Services (EBS) team providing technical support required to execute the CFI mission.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to; break/fix support, network equipment installation & configuration, and interfacing directly with end-users on incidents and projects. The work at the CFI occasionally requires tasking that is outside the core skills of the position. All work will be performed on-site, including some off-shift hours and weekend support as necessary.

Basic Qualifications
Familiarity with TCP/IP and IP addressing and subnetting.
• Provides first-level troubleshooting, verification, resolution and/or timely update of system-generated alerts and coordination/closure of incident tickets
• Provides network setup and tear down for events
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills to maintain systems, configurations, and supporting network documentation.
• Candidate must be able to support a rotational 24x7 on-call support.
• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills.
• Will be required to carry a company-issued cell phone to be immediately accessible during core hours and reachable after hours.
• Ensures conformance with Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs), established processes, and workflow in an integrated team environment.
• Responsible for communicating all business activities in an effective and timely manner to management and for maintaining professional conduct consistent with company policy and procedures, and customer expectations.

Desired skills
• Bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Computer Science (CS).
• General understanding of networking concepts (ex. TCP/IP, IP subnetting, routing tables, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
• Knowledge of network equipment (routers& switches).
• Knowledge of Cisco and/or Juniper equipment is a plus.
• General knowledge of basic programming or scripting.
• Experience with Visio and PowerPoint
• Exceptional Customer Relations skills
• Proven success working in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs) and established processes.
• Ability to obtain Secret clearance
