US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.

USBICES is in the process of significant technology refresh throughout their enterprise and require people interested in innovation and working with new technologies. This position will focus on Cisco SP technologies including MPLS WAN, SDN, and automation using Ansible, Puppet, and python. The position will be part of a core engineering team so secondary knowledge of Juniper networks and working engineering projects is a strong point. This enterprise eco also includes F5, Riverbed, Solarwinds, Splunk, Data Center, and many other technologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzes voice, video, and data communications networks, including troubleshooting, configuring, upgrading, planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting.
  2. Plans network layouts and configures VoIP, routers, and switch systems in enterprise environments.
  3. Draw network topologies as required for engineering and operations support documentation.
  4. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.
  5. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  6. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
  7. May perform network administration duties.
  8. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  9. May serve as technical team or task leader.
  10. May serve as NOC analyst monitoring systems and networks; reporting to stake holders; managing IR queues; and tracking tasks and progress.
  11. May serve as NOC networks analyst handling first level support/triage for significant support problems.
  12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Cisco and/or Juniper route/switch knowledge is preferred.
  13. Participates in special projects as required.
  14. Must have current advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis and design. May be demonstrated through degree or certification.
  15. Must have current advanced knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, cabling, modems, media converters, and related network hardware and software.
  16. Must have advanced knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
  17. Must possess CCNA or equivalent certification (minimum) with intent to complete Professional level certification within 1st year. CCNP level preferred.
  18. JNCIA Juniper JUNOS or higher a strong plus
  19. May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
  20. Must possess and maintain a US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
  21. Must possess Security+ CE Certification (or equivalent) and ITIL V3 Foundation within six months of hire.
  22. This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide.
  23. May have knowledge and experience of Network Automation using tools such as Ansible playbooks, templates, and python scripting.
  24. Experience with Network Operations tools a strong plus: Solarwinds, Splunk, et al
  25. Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP and/or Riverbed WAN Optimization a strong plus.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. 8+years of directly related experience in network analysis and design
  2. Cisco CCNA
  3. Security+
  4. ITILS v3 Foundation
  5. JNCIA-JUNOS

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Cisco CCNP
  2. JNCIP-SP
  3. CISSP
