Network Design Engineer


The Advanced Solutions Group of Leidos has an opening for a Network Design Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

As the Network Design Engineer, you will provide support government-led efforts in systems design, troubleshooting, developing lists of materials, and general networking support required for the delivery of shelters that are used to process data collected from the battlefield to provide intelligence and situational awareness. To be successful, you will have technical expertise and knowledge of computer and networking systems such that you can actively participate and contribute to ongoing system improvement. You will also be responsible for assisting the configuration of the networking equipment and troubleshooting of the system.


• Test system computer hardware, to include computer systems, routers, and printers

• Install and test software systems, to include operating system(s) and applications

• Configure, install, and support servers, desktop hardware, and software.

• Document fixes and contribute to the standardization of processes and procedures.

• Communicate development and status of system builds in a timely manager, and effectively interact with users, team members, and management

• Use disk duplication tools to build and maintain a consistent a baseline disk image for all CCS computer systems.

• Improve knowledge of, and ability to operate, all technical support tools and technologies.



•Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical management with 3+ years of direct experience associated with Network design. 4 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.

•Ability to troubleshoot hardware and basic networking problems

•Ability to configure network and standalone printers

•Ability to set up computer systems to confirm to deployment and Army IA standards

•Ability to resolve common Tier 1 helpdesk issues with minimal support.

•Ability to use Symantec Ghost, MS tools, or other 3rd party apps to construct computer and server disk images for duplication onto similar computer systems.

•Ability to travel to various sites on USMC bases as needed to provide support and training.




SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.



•Industry Design Certifications: CompTIA A+ and Network +; Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
