Network/Comms Engineer - Sr. Principal Engineer Network

The Software Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as aNetwork/Communications - Sr. Principal EngineerNetworksbased out of Aurora, Colorado

What You'll get to Do:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Network/Communications engineer to work in our Aurora, CO office. The candidate should have experience with designing, installing, operating, and troubleshooting network infrastructure on LANs and WANs. Experience with General Purpose Processors (servers & workstations), Storage Devices, modems, and signal processing equipment is preferred. This role will support Engineering Change Proposals and related follow-on proposals, work program action items, develop and review system engineering delivery artifacts, and participate in system engineering reviews.

The selected candidate will be responsible technical documentation creation/review. The candidate should be able to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment and handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment. This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years of experience with a Masters degree; 4 years of experience with a PhD
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance; must be willing to submit to and able to pass a Counter Intelligence polygraph
  • Obtaining Security+ certificate may be required (DoD 8570 requirement)
  • In-depth understanding of LAN and WAN design concepts and operation
  • Experienced in routing, switching including dynamic routing protocols, Virtual Routing, VLANs and VLAN tagging.
  • Understanding of network security concepts and practices including firewall concepts, IPsec, VPNs, and other access controls
  • Understanding of Authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) control implementations
  • Ability to travel OCONUS
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Rack and Stack and Cable Management experience
  • Deployment and Shipping experience
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and servers
  • In-depth understanding of IP network design and management
  • Understanding of network infrastructure including fiber optics, CAT6/7 cabling, and serial cable concepts
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experienced with BGP routing protocol
  • Experience with implementing Multicast routing
