Network Administrator - PL

Technology Services sector is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in RALEIGH, NC.

This individual shall independently perform enterprise-level network troubleshooting, propose enhancements to improve performance and reduce costs of maintaining a compliant network. They shall work independently or semi-independently with a minimum of guidance or direction.


Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Administrator with a strong support and troubleshooting background to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in RALEIGH, NC. This is an on-site position with no telecommute possibilities. This position is part of the Northrop Grumman's ETS Contract with the United States Postal Service, bringing top of the line professional technologists to their teams.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Assisting customers to troubleshoot Network layer 2 and layer 3 issues including recognizing need to escalate issues
Coordinate with remote users to install/configure equipment on site.
Installation and configuration of Cisco network equipment, both remote and on site.
Remote troubleshooting of sites after hours as needed.
Follow ServiceNow and other incidents to closure.
Develop and review documents for overall design and configuration of network and core switches
Occasional work on-call and after hour support.
This position will require occasional short travel periods, up to 25%.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of Degree.
Minimum 7 years of applicable networking experience.
Excellent Networking troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge and experience with QOS
Knowledge and experience with Spanning Tree and other networking protocols.
Past experience working with customers remotely and over the phone to assist with network troubleshooting and ability to escalate issues as needed.
Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
Ability to change physical locations based upon need (walking in and between buildings outside)
Ability to move objects from one location to another including routinely lifting and moving computer equipment.
Willing to work occasional on-call and after hours support rotation
Willing to travel up to 25% for occasional short term assignments.
Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.
Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years


Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or associated discipline
CCNA, CCNP or other appropriate certifications.
Active USPS security clearance.
