Description
Network Administrator/Network Technician needed to administer an enterprise network to ensure network availability and security as well as perform necessary maintenance for the Modeling and Simulation Branch of the Maneuver Battle Lab at Fort Benning. The successful candidate must be familiar with Cisco routing and switching devices, common network management and monitoring tools, common network protocols, and experience with sub-netting, VLANs, and multi-cast routing. The successful candidate must have hands on experience configuring routers, switches, ports, as well as developing, troubleshooting, and administering high speed fiber and Ethernet Local Area Networks and integration with Wide-Area Networks. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet Secret eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience or AA/AS degree in a computer- related field and 4 years of experience required.
Must possess the following baseline certifications, or ability to obtain within 90 days: CompTIA Network+ and Security+ (or equivalent; SSCP, GSEC, GICSP)
Must possess the following certifications, or ability to obtain within 6 months: Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching
Required Skills:
Position requires in-depth knowledge of Network architecture; TCP/IP IPv4/IPv6 protocols, OSPF routing, inter-VLAN routing, multicast routing, upgrading CISCO IOS, and sub-netting.
Experience or training in integrating switches, routers, and networks; troubleshooting skills to allow for and the ability to troubleshoot problems, develop and implement solutions.
Must possess an active or recent SECRET security clearance
Desired Skills:
Familiarity or experience with firewall technologies, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, and Windows Enterprise environments
