NAVAIR Programs Manager - Part-time (16 hrs /week)

Description

SAIC is looking for a talented Engineering Program Manager to assist our NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command)
Integrated Program Team (IPT) leads with the management of complex Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment related
system programs, including development, acquisition and life cycle sustainment.

The Program Manager will:

  • Develop and implement of methods to monitor cost, schedule, and data deliverables.
  • Be responsible for identifying and qualifying opportunities for growth
  • Navigation among and between customers that are employing Single Award and IDIQ buying
  • Work within the growth team to develop both the internal and external messaging to the customer
  • Work with the customer on determining their requirements and preferred solutions
  • Asses probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats, and participates in opportunity reviews.

Qualifications

Security Clearance: The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to meet this obligation.

Education: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Substitution of Education: An additional five years, beyond years of experience stated below, of relevant Engineering or Program Management leadership experience may be substituted for the degree requirement

Experience: 
  • This position requires experience managing organizations working on Acquisition Category (ACAT) programs, Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAPs), or programs of comparable size and complexity in support of the US Navy. 
  • Knowledge of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) policies and processes, with an understanding of how to effectively work within the constraints of NAVAIR financial, staffing, and contracting systems. 
  • Prior experience working in a technical or management capacity on NAVAIR's Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) or Support Equipment (SE), programs.
