MODELING, SIMULATION & ANALYSIS ENGINEER

Job Description:

Leidos is preparing to help the Air Force solve some of their most challenging problems by providing fast paced innovative development planning and experimentation campaigns to research solutions across the entire space of doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership & education, personnel, facilities and policy (DOTMLPF-P). Work in our state of the art highly collaborative environment will include operational and systems analysis via modeling, simulation, table top exercises, war games, red team analysis, prototyping, experimentation, and demonstration. Alternative solutions for technical and mission areas such as autonomy, position, navigation and timing (PNT), cockpit situational awareness, personnel recovery, adaptive basing, counter directed energy weapons, ISR, and electronic warfare/electronic spectrum, will be evaluated. These evaluations will inform AF leaders where to make force changes and apply their limited resources to fill known capability gaps. We are seeking a Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer to support the wide variety of experiment campaigns to be performed under this effort.

Primary Responsibilities
• Support the planning and execution of experiment campaigns thru modeling, simulation and analysis
• Perform design, development, evaluation, and analysis in such areas as: distributed simulation, object-oriented simulation, model validation and verification, and simulation and model development
• Design, implement, and integrate MS&A tool sets to support trade space studies evaluating warfighter capabilities, differing solution designs, program recommendations, and overall capability performance
• Assess the application of commercially or Government-owned and available analytical tool capabilities and utilize when appropriate
• Develop new MS&A capabilities as needed across the DOTMLPF-P spectrum
• Explore the use of domain models as a primary means of information exchange to encourage critical systems thinking, increase transparency, increase confidence capabilities will perform as expected, and improve the consistency of technical products

Basic Qualifications
• BS Degree with experience in the modeling, simulation and analysis field
• Working knowledge of MS&A concepts, techniques, and methodologies such as distributed simulation, object-oriented simulation, model validation and verification
• Proven ability to develop and integrate existing modeling and simulation tools and develop new tools as necessary for given analysis requirements
• Relevant experience developing software in various languages
• Strong working knowledge of tools and libraries available for various operating systems, as well as familiarity with sound software engineering principles and methodologies
• Ability to communicate well with internal and external client project team members
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate Degree in relevant technical domain
• Current Secret or higher security clearance
• Working experience with systems engineering development methods
• Experience in Operations and Systems Analysis
• Ability to lead small teams of staff with diverse technical disciplines
