Mission Integration Lead, #4370

LinQuest is seeking a Mission Integration Lead to join our team at the Los Angeles AFB, CA.

 

You will work on the systems engineering and integration (SE&I) contract in support of the US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Systems Directorate (SMC/LE).  This effort includes overarching integration of launch and range programs which will require interfacing with both the EELV and any future SMC/LE launch systems.

 

SMC/LE is the guardian of assured access: launching when and where the nation needs it. SMC/LE's vision statement is to be the most respected and innovative space lift team, delivering mission success while enabling a robust U.S. launch industry This capability provides assured access to space for the nation. SMC/LE's mission also includes mission assurance and launch safety. 

 

The position is full time on-site at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) and requires an active TS/SCI clearance.  You will work onsite, co-located and closely integrated with the Government Customer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing recommendations related to EELV mission buy contract requirements and early integration studies for USG review
  • Analysis of technical, schedule and programmatic issues related to the Launch Program contracts (e.g. cost, schedule and performance) and provide recommendations to the USG as required to support program mission integration related taskers
  • Analysis and identification of mission management programmatic and technical issues associated with cost, schedule and performance, and provide assessments/recommendations to the USG
  • Providing integrated products required to execute readiness reviews, rehearsals, launch campaigns, and day of launch activities as specified below
  • Exercise anomaly processes and Day of Launch decision making processes during rehearsal campaigns
  • As the lead for Rehearsal Anomaly Team (RAT) for AF missions (and as an integral member of the RAT for other LE contracted missions), integrate with the LSP, SVC, and other mission stakeholders (to include the Eastern/Western Ranges, Aerospace Corporation, NOPS, Space Launch Squadrons and Launch Groups) to plan, develop and de-conflict activities, and evaluate goals and objectives for launch campaign rehearsals (i.e., Integrated Crew Exercises (ICEs) and Mission Dress Rehearsals 14 (MDRs); and tabletop exercises, stand-alone exercises as required)
  • Define evaluation criteria, design and develop anomaly scenarios (e.g. design script inputs and provide inputs to members on console), and evaluate mission launch teams on operations execution performance
  • Identify, evaluate and document rehearsal and day-of-launch Mission Integration lessons learned and provide them to the USG for continuous launch program improvement
  • Evaluate efficiencies of console operations and provide strategic planning recommendations for Mission Integration Management
  • Evaluation of mission integration activities for knowledge transfer to Government mission team members

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in cross-functional planning for mission integration
  • Development of mission integration plans
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to the customer
  • Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoD agencies to commercial industry
  • Knowledgeable in the use and application of MS Office suite – specifically project, word and excel

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Project or Acquisition Management
  • Participation in launch readiness assessments and mission rehearsals
  • Ability to work in a constrained environment, under pressure with multiple deadlines and deliverables
  • Detail oriented and the ability to organize, prioritize and address multi program schedules simultaneously

 

Required Experience:

  • BS degree in electrical or mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in launch or mission integration
  • Work with FFRDC personnel (e.g., Aerospace Corporation)
  • Detail oriented and the ability to organize, prioritize and address multiple program schedules simultaneously
  • Ability to learn and adapt to the use of new tools that may be used in future LE activities
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this position

 

Preferred Experience:

  • MS in electrical or mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • Participation in USAF mission dress rehearsals
  • Experience with DoD or USAF space system console operations
