Missile Defense Engineer

MDA DE Quick Response Team (QRT) Engineer applies engineering knowledge and processes to understand the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and interpret missile defense engineering modeling results in terms of documented BMDS effectiveness metrics.Should have working knowledge of the missile defense engineering process and possess the ability to work in a deadline driven environment.Uses Microsoft Office skills (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word), and is willing to learn other programs as needed.Should have a basic understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) classification guidelines.The QRT Engineer is capable of working independently or supporting teams to solve missile defense related problems, and capable of receiving daily supervision and direction, as dictated by the tasking / situation, in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Applying missile defense engineering knowledge and processes to analyze Ballistic Missile Defense System problems.
  • Developing an understanding of both high and medium fidelity missile defense engineering models to be able to provide analysis guidance to contractor-site engineers/analysts, and interpret modeling outputs using established BMDS effectiveness metrics.
  • Implementing the MDA Engineering format for all briefings and papers in order to provide a continuous structured process for staffing, coordination, review, and approval of DE QRT briefings and related products.
  • Providing research for writing, editing, and proofreading of technical data for MDA Engineering managers/contractors in order to improve technical documents and briefings using both Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Degree in Computer Science and/or Electrical/Communications Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with productivity applications including Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Ability to perform in a high intensity, quick reaction environment
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required due to government of federal requirement.
