Mid-Level Business Analyst

ECS is seeking a Mid-Level Business Analyst to work in our Washington, DC (Zip code 20001) office. 

Job Description:

ECS Federal is looking for a Business Analyst who possesses and applies expertise on complex work assignments. We are seeking a Business Analyst to apply knowledge of business analysis principles, and information technology functions to develop solutions to user and/or contract requirements.  This person will review technical and contractual requirements and processes, and author or review documentation based on those requirements. In addition, this person will prepare briefs and present information to mid-level to senior level officials. The analyst will provide appropriate direction on complex application problems involving all phases of system analysis to provide resolution and assist users, functional and technical activity personnel in the application, definition, and design. The candidate will operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. The candidate will contribute to deliverables and performance metrics.

Job Functions:

  • Understand, clarify, and document requirements 
  • Develop  and update Training Manuals and User Guides
  • Generate and track Project/Solution/Review artifacts 
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, Track progress / participate in project review sessions
  • Research software and hardware licensing information 
  • Support technical SME's in development of documentation, briefs, tracking releases and change management processes 
  • Participate and coordinate meetings, as required by government; setup during meetings, take meeting minutes, create action item tracking items, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, setup phone calls, coordinate and reserve conference rooms and phone bridges 
  • Prepare power point briefs, spreadsheets, and other business artifacts for client meetings and conduct user training sessions 

Required Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder, and must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • 5+ years of consultant experience in business analysis 
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills with ability to interface at all levels of government personnel
  • Possess exceptional MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio, and MS Project skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environment
  • Critical Thinker, Problem Solver, and Results-Oriented
  • Experience with requirements gathering, use cases, software mockups, manual and automated functional testing, project planning, user experience expertise, and web applications
  • Skill in communicating operational, technical, and programmatic information to functional users, developers, and program managers

Desired Skills:

  • CCBA/CBAP Certification 
  • CSM Certification
  • Worked in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Agile tools and methodologies
