Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission-focused individual to lead a team in Palmdale, CA.


This position reports to the GSC Goods Movement and Logistics Director in Palmdale, CA for the Aerospace Systems Sector. The position supports the Vice President, CoE Leaders for Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence and Special Programs program office. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the Goods Movement strategy with coordination from Sector Logistics leadership to support a restricted program, with focus on achieving affordability targets, operational efficiency and First Time Quality. The selected candidate will direct and manage the activities and personnel responsible for the planning, preparation, issuance and controlling of production schedules and coordination with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements for restricted program. Candidate will also ensure proper parts protection/handling with support from Packaging Engineering and ensure Transportation coordination and compliance with the movement of program assets. Candidate will advise management and program leadership of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production and Logistics problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Candidate will be responsible for developing predictive metrics and risk mitigation strategies to ensure homeroom and program performance objectives are achieved.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management. Candidate must have 5yearsexperience leading a large team to effectively execute a broad statement of work. He/she must have experience with manufacturing and supply chain operations with demonstrated and proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively at all levels. Candidate must have familiarity with MMAS/DCMA/ISO 9001 requirements. Candidate must have an active DoD Secret clearance granted or reviewed within 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain special program security access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practice of Lean Six Sigma principles

  • Master's degree

  • APICS certification

  • Special program access
