The Engineering and Science (E&S) Team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Mgr Software Engineering 1 based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

This position is responsible for leading the software development efforts associated with a sustainment & development contract, which includes:

Direct day-to-day management of a software team spanning one or more programs, including corporate communications, personal professional development, ensuring staff is fully and appropriately tasked, and general performance management

Lead a SW engineering team to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget

Ensure that software standards are met and align with Northrop Grumman best practices and comply with customer requirements

Participation in the full Agile (or tailored Agile) development life cycle, including requirements derivation, analysis, system/software design, technical milestone review development/delivery, software implementation including static code

analysis, unit-level software testing and documentation. Support to system integration, contractor developmental test and evaluation and Government force deployment evaluation.

Providing direction to SW Engineers in performing engineering and technical assistance for operational site personnel.

Rapid software defect root cause analysis and solution development.

Position will require up to 25% travel.

MSCOMSTR

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree with 9 years of professional experience; 7 years of professional experience with aMaster's degree or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

-Demonstrated experience in customer facing relationships and utilizing influence in the absence of defined authority

-Experience leading small-to-medium technical teams in the delivery of technical solutions, engineering artifacts, or operational software

-Must have a DoD Secret security clearance


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

- Experience utilizing model based systems engineering and software design methodologies (SYSML/UML)

- Experience and depth of understanding in software engineering principles, and the full software engineering lifecycle

- Knowledge of personnel management activities, including performance management, professional development, employee retention, recruiting and onboarding, and command media compliance

-Experience developing real-time Object-Oriented Software architectures, with C++ implementation

- Proficiency with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL5/6) & IRIX/Solaris based operating systems

-Standard knowledge of radar principles

-Familiarity with Missile Defense, Missile Warning and Space Situational Awareness missions.

-Familiarity with Phased Array Radar technology

-Familiarity with Upgraded Early Warning Radar technology and programs

-Experienced in the use of Atlassian tool set.

-Experience with Fortify and other Static code analysis tools
