Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in San Diego, CA in the Quality and Mission Excellence (QME) organization. The Quality Manager will promote professional development of the QME workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement. The individual will also support the site and program needs to ensure all requirements are met with
compliance, on-time delivery and first time quality.

The Quality Manager will be responsible for leading the QME function for the site supporting 3 Operating Units, a critical business for the Airborne C4ISR (AC4ISR) Division. The Quality Manager will report to the Site Quality Manager for the Communications Business Unit (BU) and Center of Excellence (COE) within the AC4ISR Division.

As a key leader, partner and essential member of the site, the position provides strategic thought leadership, collaborative solutions and influences process and outcomes. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success leading multidiscipline organizations interfacing with executive leadership, customers, controlling budgets while achieving a high level of employee engagement and inclusion. The position requires a solution based orientation, unwavering ethics
and values, and the demonstrated ability to be a trusted partner. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information and data resulting in effective
communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Promotes the professional development of the QME workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.

- Maintains the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls and adherence to company values and ethics.

- Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the larger goals of the organization, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.

- Assures compliance in quality, safety, process improvement, manufacturing and engineering in accordance with contractual and system requirements.

- Leverage comprehensive metrics, program specifications, and processes to ensure mission success of programs.

- Assess product lifecycle risks, and determines resources to ensure quality assurance. Implement the site QMS and continuous improvement activity while engaging across and up for lessons learned and other improvement opportunities.

- Maintains close engagement with Manufacturing organization to drive improvements and zero defects in our product lines.

- Support the Manufacturing/Production Drive for Excellence initiative to ensure the delivery of high quality products.

- Frequent interface with customer representatives including DCMA.

- Ensures organizational readiness for internal corporate audits, AS9100 and ISO registrar audits.

- Advocate and implement continuous improvement opportunities, providing leadership and guidance in identifying and executing tasks to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our product linequality performance.

- Regularly requires analysis of alternate courses of action for continued product quality.

- Assess Talent needs; select and develop a diverse workforce.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college/university.

- 5 years minimum of industry experience in one or more areas: Design Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission/QualityEngineering.

- 5 years of direct management experience overseeing a department/team.

- Experience in 5S methodologies in a production environment.

- Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills and confidence to brief upper management on a regular basis.

- Experiencewith SAP/MRP, Solumina, MEStransactions.

- Active Secret DOD clearance, US Citizenship required.



Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in an Engineering/STEM discipline

-5 years of direct management experience as a leader of leaders.

- Experience developing, selecting and coordinating key metrics and subsequently presenting meaningful data for project review, and ability to generate and analyze quantitative data. In addition, to provide results and conclusions of the analysis.

- Direct application of process management and control on hardware and/or software development, production, manufacturing, and/or system integration as a Program Manager, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance Manager.
