Mgr Mfg Engineering 2 (2nd Shift)

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team at the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence, working in a collaborative, proactive environment. This position will be shared between the Palmdale, CA and Mojave, CA locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will manage Manufacturing Engineering personnel in support of Restricted Special Programs located at the Palmdale Aerospace Integration Center of Excellence. The selected candidate will:
  • Develop and implement plans to improve the overall level of product support, as well as functional homeroom performance.
  • Effectively communicate, collaborate, and direct the activities of Manufacturing Engineering personnel.
  • Be responsible for functional department management to include employee performance reviews, training, and cost and schedule performance.
  • Have accountability for the development and implementation of processes, tools, and strategies to develop a more cost-effective and efficient organization.
  • Effectively collaborate with other functions such as Tooling, Metrology, Standard Tooling, Manufacturing Process Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of experience in aviation or aerospace industry experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • A minimum 3 years of leadership/management experience is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors
  • Active DOD Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) Discipline
  • 5 years of leadership/management experience
  • Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD data (CATIA V5)
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
  • Current Special Program Access
