Mgr II Material Program Mgmt

This position could be a grade 10 or grade 11 depending on the individual experience level.

The Air and Missile Defense Systems (AMDS) Supply Chain Team is looking to fill a Material Program Manager position for the SM-3 Program. The MPM role will focus on our Block IB and IIA production contracts along with engineering development support. The role will span team organizations both in Tucson and Huntsville. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Supply Chain Management with proven experience working with Program Management and other functional organizations.


As an integral member of the team, this MPM will have daily interaction with Program Directors, Managers, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Contracts and Finance.

The ideal candidate will be a success oriented, self-motivated project leader who can drive a cross-functional team to meet the demands of a dynamic and evolving program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Developing and executing Material Program Plans (MPPs)
  • Developing material strategies
  • Material Sales
  • Forecasting/Management
  • Program affordability initiatives
  • Proposal and RFQ activities
  • Drive supplier performance to meet the Program and Functional mission

Required Skills
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a progressive Supply Chain, Production Planning, Finance, Engineering or Program Management role
  • Experience in leadership, negotiations, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with defense contracting statements of work (SOW), and prime contracts interpretation
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or similar
Desired Skills:
  • Defense contracting industry experience
  • Raytheon or equivalent material program management certification
  • Raytheon or equivalent supplier management certification
  • Experience with government contracting and financial audits
  • Experience working with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Master’s Degree in Business administration, finance, contract management or similar
