Raytheon’s Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies.

Job Description:

The Power Converters and Analog Circuit Section Manager should be an experienced electrical engineering leader, with deep and broad expertise in engineering design, test and integration, management, and business.In addition the candidate should possess demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities will include managing a Power Converter Engineering section of 15 to 20 engineers - including resource and manpower planning, career development of employees, performance and appraisal evaluations, developing training curricula, technical mentoring and leadership skill development.

Other responsibilities include technical problem solving, mentoring, project leadership, proposal writing, pursuing new business, managing budgets and schedules as the leader of development teams, and leading organizational initiatives.The candidate should expect to work closely with other section managers, the department manager, the program management office, senior managers, senior staff engineers, systems engineers, and other development team members.

Required Skills:

·6+ years total experience including project management, and development and integration of radar power systems

·Project leadership skills, including skills in the management of cost and schedule, leadership of technical design teams or of technical senior staff.

·Technical areas of expertise including at least three of the following areas: radar power system design, power distribution design, power conversion electronics,power system analysis, analog circuit design and simulation, integration and test of radar power hardware, system architecture.

·Ability to work with cross discipline teams to meet department goals and project needs.

·Eligible to obtain Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

·Experience in technical line management or Integrated Product Team leadership.

·At least 8 years total experience including project management, and development and integration of radar power systems.

·Experience with Earned Value Management Systems

·Engineering experience in a DoD environment

·Excellent communication and management skills.

·Ability to function effectively as a part of a larger team.

Education:

·B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.An advanced degree is preferred.

·Power Design - Filter, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetic Design, Overload, Short Circuit, Stress Analysis

·Mixed Signal Design - Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal Circuit Card Assemblies, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems

·Digital Hardware - Subsystem/Module Digital Circuits, FPGA/ASICs, Beam Steering, Mixed Process/Photonics/Sensors, COTS systems, COTS interfaces, Subsystem Development, VME/PCI
