Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Manager Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

This is a dual role Section Manager Specialty Test Manager. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of staff as a Section Manager within the System Integration and Test & Evaluation (SI&TE) Directorate. The candidate will also be required to be a Specialty Test Engineer on the Strike IPT. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of Specialty Test Engineers and provide technical oversight to System Test and Integration activities on the program (IPT).

Roles and Responsibilities Include
The Test Design and Instrumentation Engineering Department is seeking a Section Manager to lead a team of Specialty Test Engineers supporting the Strike Program in Melbourne, FL. The successful candidate will help their section members understand our organization's vision and principles, build a culture that empowers and motivates individual excellence, and establish functional homeroom shared accountability for program performance. Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the Test Design and Instrumentation Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and enforcing test engineering processes and procedures.


The Special Environmental Test Manager will be responsible for leading and executing an exciting statement of work on a classified program. This position will be both an IPT Lead and a Functional Homeroom Manager. Responsibilities include the following:

Report to the Specialty Test IPT Lead
Lead and oversee the technical SOW
Including incremental and full scale testing
Cost Account Manager for Associated Networks
Interface with technical government counterpart
Travel up to 25% to test ranges or government facilities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline minimum 3-5 years of experience in at least one of the following: Systems development experience; Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, systems architecture, Communications, Data links, Computer networks, Sensors, Avionics, COTS hardware, instrumentation systems, integration, and/or test

  • Minimum 1 year of Leadership experience as a Lead or Manager of staff

  • A current DoD Secret OR Top Secret level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current Top Secret/SCI level security clearance
    Program access

  • Experience with SIT&E processes and procedures to support both management and engineering tasks with Military Aircraft Systems

  • Familiarity with current programs across NGC AS Sector

  • Master's or PhD Degree in STEM

  • Experience in Environmental Testing

  • Knowledge of Cost account managing and EVMS

  • Nx, CPLM and AutoCAD Design Experience

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
