MFNDU Information Technology (IT) Trainer

The IT Trainer will assist the AIAT Directorate to Train, Advise and Assist the ANDSF while serving as the AEP subject matter expert and represent AIAT as the primary liaison and MFNDU Network Administrator for the assessment, installation, training and transition of the MFNDU IT network.

Duties include:

  • Install network and computer systems.
  • Maintain, repair and upgrade network and computer systems.
  • Diagnose and fix problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software and systems.
  • Monitor network and systems to improve performance.
  • Develop and maintain equipment accountability and life-cycle management programs.
  • Identify, assess, understand and track IT management at the MFNDU. Develop an IT training program and make recommendations to MFNDU IT managers in close coordination with training institutions based at the MFNDU such as the GSU, military academies and local network users.
  • Make recommendations to coalition representatives in the requirements and development in close coordination with contracting representatives.
  • Identify, understand and track IT requirements for each tenant unit and training academy while identifying maintenance program issues at the MFNDU that would impact institutional training.
  • Provide AIAT continuity and retain institutional knowledge of MFNDU IT network administration. Provide general expertise and advise ANA IT counterparts.
  • Train in IT best practices and processes. Train the process of maintaining MFNDU IT systems in close coordination with AFG counterparts. Train the ANA leadership involved in delivering and maintaining the MFNDU IT network program while developing and providing IT network training.

Qualifications

  • BS computer science (or 8 years IT management experience)
  • Military Installation IT administration 3 yrs. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of the development of business IT systems.
  • Leadership experience, problem solving skills and experience in organizational change, development, and design.
  • 12 months experience providing security assistance to Iraq or Afghanistan
  • Prior experience assisting and mentoring at senior levels
  • United States citizen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal communication, influence, and interaction skills that are effective in a complex strategic environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with harmony and tact in a cramped, austere, combat environment
  • Possess a DoD SECRET and NATO SECRET Level Security Clearance
  • Automated data processing knowledge: possess working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, graphics presentation, databases, E‐Mail clients & web browsers, and web content management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (i.e., Power Point, Word, and Excel).
