Metrology Engineer 3- (Lead Metrologist) - Baltimore, MD

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Lead Metrologist (Metrology Engineer 3) for its Baltimore, MD location.


Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops and evaluates metrology calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or
phenomena, such as pressure, mass, temperature, liquid flow, gas flow, electric current, luminous intensity, and derived
units of physical or chemical measure.
Identify the magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement
process in quantitative terms.
Develop calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of
measurement problems and accuracy, and precision requirements.
Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new
testing requirements.
Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.


MAQEA


Basic Qualifications:
BS in Engineering, Physics or related technical degree.
Five years of related work experience.
Previous work experience in metrology.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated background in engineering, physics, programming and strong mathematical background with an
understanding of metrology in the field of physical measurements.
Possesses current DOD Secret Clearance.
