Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Description Job Number: R0046327

Mechanical Project Engineer

The Challenge:

What if you could use your engineering skills to transform the Navy? As a mechanical engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to prototyping, researching, and designing mechanical systems and building critical systems that perform reliably and safely. We’re looking for a mechanical engineer who can use their skills to complete design work and then document the results for decision makers in the US military.

Our team woks with manned submersible vehicles that provide our military with cutting-edge technology. That’s why we need you, a mechanical engineer, who has proven design work experience and the ability to document those results in papers and other media to help us design and develop the next generation of manned submersible vehicles. You’ll learn how to perform routine overhauls on these vehicles while providing insight into mitigating the risks of parts becoming obsolete. You’ll directly impact the mission by researching and designing mechanical systems before the total failure. This is a chance to grow your mechanical engineering skills while gaining experience in supporting the DoD. Join us and take on exciting challenges supporting the Navy.

Design, develop, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult hardware devices and systems. Maintain technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical processes or phases of projects and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technicians, as required. Develop and recommend design approaches for new or improved products and processes. Consolidate the results of hardware design elements for assigned projects. Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications, and requirements. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provide work leadership to junior employees.

Empower change with us.
