Mechanical Engineer- Test Buildup and Operations

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Test Buildup and Operations at ARFL, Edwards, AFB, CA.

ASRC Federal Space and Defense, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, brings a 20-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies. ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.

Skills:

Must be able to assist with design of a test facility

Develop work assignments based on design of the test facility and ensure work foremen is involved

Determines what calculations/models are needed based on risk and operational need, and which approaches/software is appropriate.

Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
Will need to be able to work well with craft personnel and ensure they understand their build assignments.

Must be able to work with a group through a test cycle from build-up through test shut down.

Write and edit test procedures.

Brief Senior Customer and Contract management of test Status and walk through test readiness prior to receiving permission to test.

Must be able to gain access to the customer's computer networks.

Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field (such as Mechanical or Chemical) and a minimum of 5 years' experience

    Demonstrated ability in:

  • Technical Writing ability

  • Experience in Engineering design software

  • Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.

  • Strong background in Safe approach to tasks.

  • Valid state vehicle operator's license.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a final security clearance at the SECRET level.

    Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work at heights and depths.

  • Work overtime with little notification.

  • Must be able to work in extreme hear and extreme cold
