Job Title:Mechanical Engineer, Interconnection Designs

The Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED) leads in mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. The MED uses state-of-the-art tools, processes technology and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

Job Description:

We have multiple openings available for an Interconnection Design Engineer. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work from requirements to develop unit design concepts and perform design trades.

  • Complete detailed layouts and design documentation using Computer Aided Design tools.

  • Travel extensively both domestic and international

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

This position can be a salary grade E02 or E03 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, education and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:

  • Two (2)+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in electronics packaging design.
  • Experience in designing electronics products, starting with requirements through the release of a design.
  • Expertise in CAD modeling tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of electronics enclosures / chassis for military and aerospace environments.

  • Expertise in connector and wire selection for military and aerospace environments

  • Experience in cable design preferred.

  • Creo / ProE experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel extensively both domestic and international

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline.
