Responsibilities

The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking applicants for the position of Mechanical reporting to the Design Engineering & Drafting Department Manager.

INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design, development and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.

In this role, you will apply engineering knowledge, practice and techniques to solve applied and operational problems in the areas of R&D for Nuclear Programs. This includes creating engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and implementation documents to meet customer's design inputs. You will follow the design through fabrication, installation, and testing to ensure product quality and functionality prior to turning the end product over to the owning organization.
It's expected that the successful candidate have recognized high proficiency and skills in designing complex mechanical systems.

Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) "L" Security Clearance

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience or Master's and 3 years or PhD and 2 years

Preferred:

AutoCAD experience

Professional license in Mechanical Engineering
