What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has a need to add an experienced Mechanical Engineer to its technical team in Albuquerque, NM. This position requires travel in the continental United States for various projects. The candidate should be experienced performing the following tasks.
More About the Role:
Assist in defining requirements, design, and production of transportable and mobile shelters consisting of hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, HVAC sub-systems along with other mechanical/electrical system designs.
Conduct trade studies, feasibility assessments, analysis of alternatives and root cause analyzes.
Assesses system architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs complex system specifications for mechanical interfaces to support overall system interoperability.
Analyzes and resolves complex design compatibility issues.
Coordinates design of mechanical sub-system interfaces and integration of total system for the customer.
Core understanding of determining root cause of failures and correcting them.
Exceptional knowledge of providing technical assistance with the design and implementation of mechanical/electrical systems.
Strong background in reading and interpreting instructions and safety procedures associated with mechanical fabrication processes.
Proven ability to develop and read schematics, engineering drawings and work plans.
Knowledge of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment in support of mechanical component fabrication.
Work in a team environment, Quality Team Member.
Experience in writing customer system specific installation and operator maintenance manuals which include detailed drawings, test plans and procedures.
Coordinate the procurement of material and components from commercial and DOD vendors to meet requirements.
Collaborates with engineering staff.
Leads others but no supervisory responsibilities.
Interface and provide technical support as well as communication and coordination with subcontractors and vendors to develop requirements, design, pricing, and proposal developments.
Create technical integration plans to include drawings, work instructions, parts list, tools required, and schedule.
Generate and review 3-Dimensional models, drawings, and diagrams in order to design, capture project details, and produce finished products.
Familiar with NM DOT, DOD Military Specifications such as Human Factors, Environmental Testing, and Road Transportation Requirements.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
4-7 years demonstrated mechanical engineering design and fabrication experience supporting programs in a DoD environment with a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent BS degree.
Proficient with ACAD 3D, Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
Proficient with MS Office tools
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
7-10 years Transportable/mobile shelter design experience
Active TS/SCI
Professional Engineering Certification in the state of NM
